The human body consists of 70% water and thus every single person on the planet requires water to sustain their life. In fact, water has been identified as the single most vital requirement for health and longevity. The human body can survive without food, but not without water.
The earth is abundant in water, but less than 1% is drinkable. The developed world is blessed with very fine water filtration and supply systems. However, In many parts of the world, clean drinking water doesn’t flow from a tap. According to the UN, over 1 billion people do not have access to clean water.
They have no choice but to drink dirty water. Drinking dirty, diseased water is one of the most common causes of death in the developing world and 60% of childhood deaths can be traced back to dirty drinking water.
Aid Humanity is working in several parts of the world to locate communities in need of water. Gifting safe water not only saves lives but is a great long-term asset for the community it serves. A clean water well reduces the community’s vulnerability to disease and drought and empowers it to develop and prosper.
Being as giving the gift of water is so momentous, our donors have the opportunity to be involved in the process, making it truly personal.
If you wish to sponsor an entire pump or well, do notify us of your chosen area upon completing payment. We will then set about identifying a community in need of supply. The challenges and mode of supply are evaluated and the installation of an appropriate type of pump or well is then carried out.
Once the pump or well has been built and is fully functional, a plaque will be placed on it, with details of your choosing. You will be sent photos and videos of the pump or well in action, so you may witness firsthand the effect your gift will have on the recipient community.
